Overview

The Standard Short Term "Tourist Visa" is for those applicants who want to visit Portugal for the purpose of Tour / Holidaying / Vacation. The Visitor is only permitted to stay in Portugal for the duration of their planned of stay but no more than 90 days.The applicant must enter and exit the Schengen area within that time limit. During their stay in Portugal, visitors with a Tourist Visa are not permitted to accept unauthorized employment, attend school, or represent foreign information media.

The applicant must submit all necessary documentation through The Embassy of France in Dhaka in order to apply for a Portugal Schengen Sticker Visa.Please note, a prior appointment is mandatory to submit your visa applications at the embassy. Appointments are arranged through Online portal link. All the documents and passports must be submitted in person at the embassy.
The applicant will be informed when it comes time to obtain his or her passport once The Embassy of France in Dhaka makes a decision.
**Long-term visa applications of Portugal for Bangladeshi citizens are submitted at the Embassy of Portugal in New Delhi, India. Please note, a prior appointment is mandatory to submit the visa applications at the embassy and The Portugal embassy requires in-person submission. So, the applicants need to attend the Embassy when submitting files and get a long-term Portuguese visa from Bangladesh.

Who can apply

  • Eligibility to Apply for Visa Basic Eligibility :
    Any Bangladeshi Nationals are Eligible to Apply for Portugal Tourist Visa (having a valid MRP / E-Passport with at least 6 months validity) subject to provide some required Documents.

    • be a genuine visitor
    • have enough funds to support his/her stay and leave

Choose the applicant's profession. Documents differ mainly in proof of occupation and finances.

Service holder

Salaried employees

  1. Passport :

    A valid passport that is original and at least 3/6 months validity is essential. Moreover,

    *the passport should not be older than 10years.

    *the passport must have at least two blank pages.

    *copies of your previous Schengen Visas (if applicable)

    Note: All previous passports and Visa's are required (if any).

  2. A Cover Letter :

    Covering Letter from applicant name, designation, Passport Number, purpose and outlining who will be responsible for the full costs of the trip – travel, accommodation, expenses etc. Addressed to – The Visa Officer, Embassy of Portugal, Dhaka.

  3. Round trip flight itinerary :

    Containing the dates and flight numbers specifying entry & exit from Portugal.

  4. Travel Insurance

    Insurance must be valid for the whole Schengen area. The Insurance must cover the repatriation costs up to 30,000 Euros. The Insurance must fully cover the whole period of stay within the Schengen area.

    *The conditions must be stated either on the insurance document or on a separate confirmation letter.

  5. Photo Specification :

    Passport sized photograph (3.5cm by 4.5cm)

    *The photo should be a recent whole face capture with a white background.

    *Neutral face expression (No smile & mouth closed)

    Please Note: Photograph should not be more than 3 months old, scanned/stapled and should not be used in any of the previous visas.

  6. Flight and hotel reservations

    Valid Flight and Hotel bookings or the inviter's residence address is required

  7. Invitation Letter (If Any)

    An original copy of the invitation letter from company/ Organization or Friends and Family with evidence.

  8. Applicants/Sponsors Financial Documents

    *Personal Bank Statement of the last 6 months & Bank Solvency Certificate

    *TIN certificate

    *Income Tax certificate (Last 2 years), Tax Return (ITR)

  9. Applicants/Sponsors Proof of Occupation and Identity

    *Office ID Card/Visiting Card

    *Company Letter Pad : A letter from your employer on company letterhead, with contact details, stating that a leave of absence has been granted, the purpose and duration of the trip, and that you will be returning to your current job (if you are a job holder).

    *Salary slips for the last 6 months

    *Valid Passport, NID, Photo, and Birth certificate.

  10. Forwarding Letter

    NOC from the applicant's company authority on the company's letterhead stating the applicant's name, designation, passport number, purpose, and duration of the visa.

    **The NOC letter is highly important for your Schengen visa application.(Pay slips should be included in it.

  11. Additional Documents :

    For minors below the age of 18,proof of legal parenthood (if applicable) :

    *copy of either birth certificate or proof of adoption (if adopted).

    *custody decree in case parents are divorced or death certificate of parents (if applicable).

    * 'Letter of Consent' from the legal guardian including his/her passport copy legalized by a notary public. (only required in case the legal guardian is not present during the Visa appointment.).

    *Income Tax Certificate of the Company (Last 2 Years) (in case the applicant is a business holder).

  9. Applicants and Sponsors Proof of Occupation and Identity

    *Company memorandum.

    *Visiting card.

    *Updated Trade License

    *Valid Passport copy, NID, Photo, Birth certificate.

  10. Forwarding Letter

    The business pad states the applicant's name, designation, passport number, purpose, and duration of the visa.

  11. Additional Documents :

    For minors below the age of 18,proof of legal parenthood (if applicable) :

    *copy of either birth certificate or proof of adoption (if adopted).

    *custody decree in case parents are divorced or death certificate of parents (if applicable).

Fees & charges

  • Visa Fees 90 EUROS (for adults).
  • Visa Fees 45 EUROS (for children aged 6-12).
  • Visa Application Service Center Charge BDT 5000 Approximately.
  • Travel Insurance Charge : Depends on applicant's age & travel duration.
  • Service Charge BDT 8,000.
  • Note: Bank draft charge and Visa application center fee might be charged.

Processing time

14 to 18 working days approximately. (The processing time at Embassy depends on the visa categories and proper representation of the visa application to the Visa office).
